Description
Hepaval (Glutathione) Ampoules 600 mg, #10 Solution
Composition
Each ampoule of Hepaval contains 600 mg of glutathione as the active ingredient. Glutathione is a naturally occurring tripeptide with strong antioxidant properties, playing a crucial role in detoxification, immune function, and cellular protection. Inactive ingredients include Sodium Hydroxide, Hydrochloric Acid (for pH adjustment), and Sterile Water for Injection.
Pharmacological Group
Hepaval belongs to the group of hepatoprotective and antioxidant agents. It acts primarily by neutralizing free radicals, supporting the detoxification of harmful substances in the liver, and boosting cellular defense mechanisms.
Therapeutic Indications
- Liver detoxification support in chronic liver diseases (e.g., hepatitis, cirrhosis, steatosis)
- Adjunct therapy for alcoholic liver disease and drug-induced liver toxicity
- Antioxidant support in individuals exposed to oxidative stress or environmental toxins
- Immunomodulatory support for patients with chronic illnesses
- Aesthetic medicine (off-label): skin brightening and anti-aging therapy (under clinical discretion)
Mechanism of Action
Glutathione acts as a key component in the cellular antioxidant defense system. It protects hepatocytes and other cells by directly scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS), regenerating other antioxidants like vitamin C and E, and supporting phase II liver detoxification enzymes. It also aids in the metabolism of xenobiotics, heavy metals, and peroxides.
