Composition

Each 100 ml of Hylak Forte contains metabolic by-products of 4 strains of lactic acid bacteria: Lactobacillus helveticus, Pediococcus pentosaceus, Leuconostoc mesenteroides, and Escherichia coli. These are not live bacteria but sterile filtrates. Additional ingredients include purified water, potassium sorbate (preservative), and phosphoric acid (for pH adjustment).

Hylak Forte is a probiotic metabolic supplement that supports the restoration and maintenance of normal gut flora. It is commonly used to treat gastrointestinal disturbances resulting from dysbiosis, antibiotic therapy, travel, or infections. The formulation aids in regulating intestinal acidity and supports the integrity of the gut mucosa.

Pharmacological Properties

Hylak Forte does not contain live microorganisms but instead includes their metabolic products (biosubstances such as lactic acid and short-chain fatty acids), which exert beneficial effects. These substances help restore the natural intestinal flora, normalize the pH of the digestive tract, and inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria. They also promote intestinal motility and secretion.

Dosage and Administration

Hylak Forte is for oral use. It should be diluted with a small amount of water or juice and taken before or during meals.

• Adults: 40–60 drops, 3 times daily
• Children: 20–40 drops, 3 times daily

After symptoms improve, the dose can be gradually reduced. Do not take Hylak Forte with milk.

Side Effects

Hylak Forte is generally well-tolerated. Rare side effects may include:

• Bloating or gas
• Nausea
• Abdominal discomfort
• Allergic skin reactions (e.g., rash, itching)

Drug Interactions

Overdose

No cases of overdose have been reported. Even high doses are generally considered safe. In case of accidental ingestion of large amounts, monitor for gastrointestinal discomfort.

Storage

Store at 2°C to 25°C. Do not freeze. Protect from light and keep the bottle tightly closed. Once opened, use within 6 weeks. Keep out of reach of children.
