Mildronate Description
Mildronate is a non-steroidal medication with antihypoxic, cardioprotective, and restorative effects.
Medication Action
Mildronate is very popular among bodybuilders, as it provides a good effect and belongs to pharmacy medications that are legal and safer than steroids.
The main effect of the medication is its ability to reduce the signs of fatigue and increase performance, making training in the gym more productive, and improving power results.
As mentioned earlier, one of the actions of the medication is its cardioprotective function, providing comprehensive protection for the heart muscle, especially the myocardium.
Mildronate provides a fat-burning effect by stimulating metabolism, activating glycolysis processes, and preventing the accumulation of fatty acids in cells.
If a sportsman is injured, they can take mildronate during the recovery period. Additionally, sportsmen experiencing great psycho-emotional stress and requiring protection from stress can use meldonium to enhance training effectiveness and improve sports performance.
Indications for the Use of Meldonium:
- Reduced performance;
- Physical stress, including among sportsmen;
- Ischemic heart disease (angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, chronic cardiac insufficiency, and cardialgia against the background of myocardial dystrophy);
- Infectious-allergic bronchial asthma and chronic non-obstructive bronchitis (as an immunomodulator in combination therapy);
- Abstinence syndrome in chronic alcoholism (in combination with specific therapy for alcoholism);
- Acute circulatory disorders in the retina; acute and chronic disorders of blood supply to the brain (cerebral strokes and chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency).
Effects of Mildronate in Bodybuilding:
Mildronate prevents the accumulation of activated forms of non-oxidized fatty acids in cells. In cases of ischemia, it restores the balance of oxygen delivery and consumption in cells, preventing ATP delivery disruption.
- Activates glycolysis without additional oxygen consumption.
- Improves muscle nutrition.
- Increases training efficiency.
- Reduces fatigue.
- Protects the heart and increases myocardial contractility.
Method of Use and Dosage:
The dosage for the sportsman depends on their weight. Take no more than 5000 mg per day. The optimal dosage of mildronate can be calculated according to the scheme: 20 mg of medication per 1 kg of body weight.
Take the medication once a day, half an hour before training, with plenty of water. The duration of use is 90 days; the minimum period is 42 days. Then, take a break for at least 30 days.
Contraindications:
Organic damage of the central nervous system. Diseases of the liver and kidneys.

Side Effects:
In rare cases, itching, dyspeptic symptoms, tachycardia, agitation, and various changes in blood pressure.
