Description
Tationil is a pharmaceutical-grade Glutathione product used for antioxidant support, detoxification, and skin health. Glutathione is a naturally occurring tripeptide composed of glutamine, cysteine, and glycine. It plays a vital role in cellular defense, free radical neutralization, and metabolic regulation.
Indications
- Supportive treatment for liver detoxification
- Adjunct therapy in chemotherapy-induced toxicity
- Immune system support in chronic illness
- Adjunct in treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome and neurodegenerative diseases
- Skin brightening (off-label use under medical supervision)
Pharmacological Action
Glutathione acts as a potent antioxidant by reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS), maintaining redox balance, and detoxifying xenobiotics through conjugation. It is involved in DNA synthesis, protein repair, and immune regulation.
Dosage and Administration
- Route: Intravenous (IV) or intramuscular (IM) injection only
- Typical Dosage: 600 mg to 1200 mg 1–3 times per week, depending on indication and physician’s guidance
- Preparation: Reconstitute lyophilized powder with provided diluent before administration
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to Glutathione or excipients
- Asthma (due to rare reports of bronchospasm)
- Severe renal or hepatic impairment unless prescribed under strict medical supervision
Warnings and Precautions
- Use caution in patients with renal insufficiency
- Monitor liver enzymes and renal function in long-term use
- IV use should only be done in a clinical setting by trained professionals
Adverse Reactions
- Common: Headache, dizziness, mild gastrointestinal discomfort
- Local: Injection site pain or irritation
- Rare but serious: Allergic reactions, bronchospasm, rash, or anaphylaxis
Drug Interactions
- May interact with chemotherapy agents; consult an oncologist before use
- May reduce oxidative stress markers, which could alter the efficacy of certain pro-oxidant therapies
Pregnancy and Lactation
There is insufficient data on the safety of Glutathione during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Use only if clearly necessary and under medical supervision.
Overdose
Symptoms may include gastrointestinal upset, headache, dizziness, or hypotension. Supportive care is recommended. Seek immediate medical attention in case of overdose.
Storage Conditions
- Store at 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F)
- Protect from direct light and moisture
- Do not freeze
- Use immediately after reconstitution; discard any unused solution
