Polyoxidonium Powder for Injections 6 mg, #5 Solution
Polyoxidonium (Azoximer bromide) is an immunomodulating medication used to enhance the body’s immune response in the treatment and prevention of various infections and immune-related conditions. This injectable formulation contains 6 mg of lyophilized powder per vial, with 5 vials in each pack.

Pharmacodynamics
Azoximer bromide enhances both innate and adaptive immunity. It activates phagocytic cells, increases the production of interferon, enhances the cytotoxic activity of natural killer cells, and stimulates the maturation and activation of T- and B-lymphocytes. The agent also has antioxidant and detoxifying effects, supporting the elimination of toxins and reducing the inflammatory response.
Indications for Use
- Prevention and treatment of acute and chronic infections (bacterial, viral, fungal)
- Supportive therapy in allergic and autoimmune conditions
- Immunodeficiency states (primary and secondary)
- Oncology (as part of complex therapy)
- Pre- and postoperative immunocorrection
Dosage and Administration
- Reconstitute powder with 1–2 ml of sterile water or 0.9% sodium chloride solution before use
- Administer intramuscularly or intravenously, depending on medical indication
- Standard adult dose: 6–12 mg once daily or every other day, based on condition severity
- Children’s dose: individualized based on weight and age
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Azoximer bromide or excipients
- Severe autoimmune disorders
- Acute infectious diseases in decompensated form
- Pregnancy and lactation (unless advised by a physician)
Side Effects
- Transient fever or chills
- Injection site discomfort
- Allergic skin reactions (rash, itching)
- Rarely: headache or general fatigue
Overdose
No overdose cases have been reported. Symptomatic treatment is recommended in case of suspected overdose.
Drug Interactions
- Compatible with antibiotics, antiviral, antifungal, antihistamines
- May be used with immunosuppressants under medical supervision
Precautions
- Use with caution in patients with hepatic or renal insufficiency
- Not recommended for self-administration without medical guidance
Special Instructions
Does not impair psychomotor functions or the ability to drive. In cases of chronic conditions, monitoring by a healthcare professional is required during therapy.
